Most consumer products are made from the same basic ingredients, using a similar manufacturing process. So there is not much variation in the cost price.

However, some products are able to sell at a premium price compared to others though there may not be much difference in the actual quality of the product. This is because the company selling the product , has spent time and money creating a brand image, so that consumers prefer to use the particular product.
